Boarding Admissions and Types of Boarding

Places for Full Boarding are normally offered on an annual basis to boys from K1 to C1, depending on availability and based on admission rules. The number of places is advertised at the time of the Admissions process as a guide only. Occasionally boarding places are available for admission in to A Levels. Rules for admission vary: Junior boys are required to board for a minimum of 8 years and Prep School and Senior School boys for the duration of their time at school. No change of status is permitted in this category: meaning that a full time boarder cannot revert to being a weekly boarder or a day student. Places are highly competitive. We encourage topacademics as well as those with broad range of talents.

International Boarding is available for senior school applicants who seek entry into O and A Levels.

Weekly boarding is available for day boys who wish to change their status and take advantage of what boarding has to offer. Weekly boarding places are only available when a boarding house has space for admissions. Weekly boarders return home on Fridays and return to boarding each Sunday afternoon before 5pm. Only day boys may change status to weekly boarding. Full boarders may not transfer to weekly boarding status.

‘Day Boarding’ provides a meal for boys whose sporting commitments and school timings necessitate this form of help. Places are strictly limited and depend upon available spaces in boarding houses. Boys remain in day houses for sporting and co-curricular activities.
