Aitchison College reopens after the summer vacation
In the face of all challenges, let’s spread the contagious smile and be happy
Sports Summer Camp 2024
During the summer holidays, Aitchison College Sports Department successfully conducted its sports camp for all three schools: the Junior, the Prep, and the Senior. Our students earnestly participated in the following: sports:
Brimming with vigour, more than three hundred students joined the camp. Our coaches imparted the finer tips of various sports. Their primary focus remained on boys’ physical fitness, stamina, endurance level, muscle strength, and the best technique in sports. On the whole, it was quite a useful exercise.
Teachers' Training and Development Workshops
Aitchison College arranged a week-long teachers’ training in all three of its schools: The Senior, the Preparatory, and the Junior. Two most proficient educationists, Mr. Abbas Husain, the managing director of the Teachers’ Development Centre (TDC) in Karachi, and Ms. Tina Hameed from Lahore, conducted various transformative sessions on the prevalent trends in modern pedagogies and teaching practices around the world. The Master Trainers of the college also conducted quite a few useful in-house training sessions as well.
Aitchison College Inter-Club Fundraiser Squash Tournament
Aitchison College Inter-Club Fundraiser Squash Tournament was held from 9th to 11th August 2024 at Monnoo Squash Complex, Aitchison College, Lahore. Eight clubs along with the Aitchison Squash Team participated in the tournament. The visiting teams were:
The results of the tournament are as under;-
Most of the matches were quite thrilling, especially the final. This closely contested final was won by DeSOM by 3-1 games
On the whole, it was a great learning experience for AC boys playing against the senior and more experienced players. The audience enjoyed a remarkable display of racket craftsmanship by the players representing different clubs in the tournament. The players aptly depicted their undying reliance, courage, and durability. We should have many more such Fundraiser Tournaments for the underprivileged and needy who have a lot of passion for the game but cannot afford to buy kits and Squash sports gear. Such tournaments motivate many youth players who most certainly can bring laurels nationally and internationally to the country. We sincerely hope that such fundraising contests will not only fulfill the financial needs of many neglected players but also give them opportunities to play the sport of their dreams. Such players can bring great glory and triumph to the country.
Profound thanks to all who made this tournament possible. Kudo to Sheheryer Akram, our current boy, who initiated this brilliant idea of organizing this charity event for such a noble cause.
