Tryst with History: Independence Day Celebrations at Aitchison
On August 14, 2025, Aitchison celebrated Independence Day with unwavering enthusiasm and zeal. This
day commemorates the struggle of our national heroes, whose relentless struggle secured a separate
homeland for us.
The highlight of the celebrations was the national flag hoisting ceremony. The Principal, Aitchison
College, Dr. S.M. Turab Hussain, unfurled the national flag. The Bursar, the Heads of schools, staff, and
the prefects were in attendance to honour the national legacy. In his address, the Principal reflected on
Pakistan’s remarkable journey, emphasising the importance of quality education and accessible
healthcare for all. He highlighted the country’s immense potential: fertile lands, abundant natural
resources, strategic trade routes, and a dynamic youth population. This positions Pakistan as a key
player on the global stage.
Such celebrations not only rekindle patriotism but also reinforce Aitchison’s commitment to nurturing
future leaders who will carry forward the nation’s ideals in the days to come.
