Aitchisonians Achieved a Major Breakthrough in Rocketry

On 25th of September, on the outskirts of Bhalwal, the Aitchison College Science Society successfully launched Pakistan’s first-ever Level Two High-Power Rocket. In doing so, our school has set two national records:

  1. Achieving the highest speed of a non-military rocket at Mach 0.5 (160 m/s).
  2. Reaching an apogee of 1,200 metres, a milestone never before achieved at the school level in Pakistan.

This success followed the static test of the Delta-5 solid motor on August 7, 2025, which produced 40 kg of thrust and was entirely designed, built, and fired at Aitchison. Building on that success, the recent flight was powered by the same Delta-5 engine, made completely in-house.

The Aitchison College Rocketry Team has independently engineered its own motor, ignition system, and thrust stand, setting a new standard at the high school level.

This launch marks a defining moment in both the history of Aitchison and of rocketry in Pakistan. It demonstrates that, with vision, teamwork, and determination, our school students can compete with and even surpass the capabilities of leading universities worldwide
