Dr. Muhammad Alam Khan (PhD) Departs for His Eternal Abode

Dr. Muhammad Alam Khan has answered the final bell of his life, departing peacefully on a journey from which there is no return. He left us on Monday, 26th January, 2026.
For decades, he taught Urdu Language and Literature at Aitchison College, Prep School, with unwavering dedication and infectious joy. Progressive in his thinking, he was a steadfast advocate for social justice and equality and practised what he believed. His associations with literary giants such as Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Saadat Hasan Manto, Habib Jalib, and Ahmed Faraz were legendary. His lessons were pure delight, humor contagious, and wit spontaneous. Renowned for his captivating recitations of Urdu poetry and prose, he touched countless lives with his passion and humility.
After a long and distinguished teaching career at Aitchison College, Prep School, he continued to share his knowledge at Forman Christian College University, Garrison University, the Government College University of Education, and other prominent institutions, where he mentored Doctoral, MPhil, and Master's students.
The final bell of his life has rung. Dr. Alam’s life has fallen silent, but the corridors of Aitchison College, Prep School, still seem to reverberate with his voice, weaving the magic of Urdu poetry and the spell of Urdu prose. He will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
