World Book and Copyright Day 2026 Celebrations at the Syed Babar Ali Library

As part of World Book and Copyright Day 2026 celebrations, Aitchison College Junior School boys (Lower and Upper Primary) visited the Syed Babar Ali Library on 29 and 30 April 2026 and 12 May 2026, in three separate groups. Approximately 150 students participated in these visits, organised under the Star Readers Programme as part of the Reading Incentive Programme.

The purpose of these visits was to recognise and celebrate the reading progress of young learners while encouraging them to continue developing strong reading habits. During the visits, our students enthusiastically explored the reading spaces and learned about the importance of libraries in promoting knowledge, creativity, and lifelong learning. Many boys expressed excitement about becoming library members so they could independently borrow and enjoy books.

As part of the interactive sessions, students completed activity sheets prepared by the JS team, reflecting on their library experience and sharing their thoughts about reading. The library staff also engaged the students in creative learning activities, including colouring sheets and prompt-writing exercises connected to the animated film The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.

Following the screening, the students participated in lively discussions, sharing their observations, ideas, and reflections on the film’s inspiring message about books, imagination, and storytelling. These activities encouraged creativity, observation, and thoughtful expression among the learners.

Overall, the visits were both educational and enjoyable, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for books, storytelling, and library learning among the students.

The success of these visits was made possible by the dedicated support and cooperation of all SBA Library staff, with the valuable coordination and collaboration of Aitchison College, Junior School.
