Aitchison College mourns the passing of Izzat Majeed (AC 1965), a distinguished entrepreneur, cultural patron, and proud Old Aitchisonian, who passed away in Lahore on Saturday, 30 May, 2026.

After Aitchison, he pursued higher studies at the University of Oxford and went on to become a leading figure in business and the arts. As the founder of the Sachal Studios Orchestra, he introduced Pakistani jazz to international audiences, earning global recognition and helping place Pakistan on the world jazz map.

A generous benefactor of his alma mater, he donated the Majeed Block in the Preparatory School in 2001, reflecting his enduring affection for and commitment to Aitchison College.

He will be remembered for his vision, generosity, and dedication to promoting Pakistan’s cultural heritage, leaving behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. The Aitchison community extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
