Passing of Kabir Omar (AC 1971)

It is with profound sadness that Aitchison College announces the passing of Kabir Omar (1959–1971), who passed away on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
During his years at Aitchison, Kabir distinguished himself in athletics and was awarded the C.B. Barry Challenge Cup for Athletics. After graduating from the College, he pursued higher education at the Western Michigan University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing, before establishing his own industrial marketing business in the United States.
Kabir will be remembered as a kind-hearted, humble and generous friend whose warmth, humour and gentle nature endeared him to all who knew him. As one Old Boy fondly recalled, “We will always miss him and his go-karts. He had the distinction of being the only one who could move his ears!” His friendship and cheerful spirit will be greatly missed.
Aitchison College extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fellow Old Boys. May Almighty Allah grant his noble soul eternal peace and give his loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
