We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Mr Muhammad Sharif Assi Chaudhry, on Friday, 5th June 2026. A distinguished member of the College faculty, he began his teaching career with the Education Department, Government of Punjab as a Senior English Teacher at the Government Central Model School, where he served for more than six years. He then joined  Aitchison College in 1975, starting a career which spanned over 30 years. During his tenure at the College, he taught multiple subjects: English, Urdu, and History, and held the position of the Head of Urdu Department in Prep School. He also served as Acting Headmaster of the Prep School in 1988.

Mr Sharif was known for his integrity, competence and experience, remaining one of the senior most teachers at the school until his retirement. He mentored generations of Aitchisonians and his lessons went beyond the classroom; he was often the teacher accompanying students on their excursions, particularly trekking trips to the north. During his service at Aitchison, Mr Sharif served as the Housemaster for Saigol House and Salah-ud-din House; his exemplary leadership of fifteen years at Salah-ud-din House won it the accolade of the best House in Prep School for three consecutive years.

He had an M.A in Political Science, a Masters in Education, and passed his LL.B in 1973. His professional career exemplified his personal dedication to learning and constant self-improvement, values that were reflected in his teaching. For countless Old Boys and colleagues, he shall always be remembered as one of the most influential teachers of the institution.

The College extends its deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones during this time of loss. May he rest in peace.
