Fun Writing, Better Teaching: Four Days of Professional Learning

The Teaching & Learning Centre at Aitchison College welcomed teachers from Ala-ud-Din Academy Girls High School (ALDA) for a four-day professional development programme, “Fun Writing, Better Teaching,” held at Aitchison from 10–13 August 2026.

Designed as a hands-on and collaborative learning experience, the programme explored a range of approaches to making teaching more engaging, purposeful and effective. Teachers engaged with ideas around creative writing, reading, classroom practice, questioning, language, student engagement and the teaching of writing, while reflecting on how these approaches could translate into their own classrooms.

The four days provided opportunities for teachers to learn, experiment, share ideas and reflect on their practice, with an emphasis on practical strategies that could be adapted to different classroom contexts.

The programme was facilitated by Tina Hameed, Omer Mubbasher and Zain Khan from the Teaching & Learning Centre.

TLC was pleased to host the ALDA team at Aitchison and looks forward to continuing this professional learning partnership and creating further opportunities for teachers to learn and grow together.
