It is with a profound sense of loss and sadness that we announce the passing of our Old Boy, Saleh Mahmood Tarin (Class of 1963).

Remembered by friends and colleagues as a deeply good-hearted man, he was a steadying anchor for all around him, offering gentle warmth, quiet comfort, and a soft-spoken nature.

Saleh continued a proud family legacy at Aitchison, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Khan Muhammad Yar Khan Tarin; his father, Ahmad Khan Tarin; and his elder brother, Muhammad Aslam Tarin.

During his time at Aitchison, he was awarded the Dane Bhima Medal in 1961 and the Jubilee Medal in 1963. He was also a member of the College football team. After leaving Aitchison, Saleh Tarin went on to Balliol College, Oxford, and later served as a senior executive at PIA. Committed to the education for the less privileged, he was also a Trustee of the Langlands Endowment Trust for the G. D. Langlands School in Chitral.

We extend our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and loved ones.

May Allah grant Saleh Mahmood Tarin the highest abode in Jannat-ul-Firdous and envelop his soul in His mercy. Ameen.
