Day 3 Recap: Strengthening Continuity, Progression and Rigour Across the Aitchison Learning Journey

Thursday's programme covered three distinct groups. Novice teachers moved into "The Craft of Teaching (Intermediate)" from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the AJ Centre, working with Tina Hameed, Ahmer Ibrahim, and Omer Mubbasher on assessment, feedback, reflective practice with a mentor, and a policy orientation delivered by HR.

Residential teaching staff attended a separate session, "Teaching Boarders: Engagement, Learning & Residential Life," led by Zain Khan with the RLC Core Committee.

The day's central activity was "Mapping the Aitchison Learning Journey: Rigor, Progression and Continuity," a two-hour combined session held across seven subject rooms in the Old Building. Teachers of English, Urdu, Mathematics, Science, Art, Islamiyat, and Pakistan Studies from all three schools worked together, led by their HODs, to trace how each subject should progress from Junior School to A Level, identify where students struggle at transition points, and agree on a small number of practical strategies to close those gaps. Each subject group submitted a Subject Continuity Snapshot summarising the discussion.
