Forging Leaders in the Hills: Aitchison College Leadership Camp at Mangal
Aitchison College’s Student Leadership Body participated in a four-day Leadership Camp at Mangal, Abbottabad, from September 3rd to 6th, 2026, organised by the Adventure Foundation Pakistan. The camp brought together College and School Prefects, Sports Captains and Vice-Captains, Members of the Academic Councils, General Secretaries, and Presidents. They were accompanied by Mr. Khalid Saifullah, Mr. Iqbal Haider, Mr. Muhammad Tariq, and Mr. Waqas Younas, who served as supervising faculty and camp counsellors.
Day 1: The day began with the journey to Mangal, followed by an orientation session, a tent-pitching demonstration, and a map-reading activity. The evening concluded with dinner, stargazing, and a seminar on environmental issues and conservation.
Day 2: The day featured a trek along the Pipeline Track from Donga Gali to Ayubia, including a briefing on trekking guidelines and environmental ethics, followed by a discussion on national parks and human impact on the environment.
Day 3: The day centred on the Mushkpuri Trek, where students reached the summit, participated in local sightseeing, and attended a session on the region’s biodiversity and ecosystems. Students also undertook a community service initiative, conducting a clean-up drive at the summit to collect litter and preserve the natural surroundings.
Day 4: The day concluded with practical training in knot-tying and field improvisation skills, a final debriefing, certificate distribution, and a group photograph before the delegation departed for Lahore. Ms. Amina Kamran, Headmistress of Senior School, and Ms. Tosheeba Sarwar, US Admissions Counsellor, attended the closing ceremony.
Through these shared challenges and outdoor activities, the camp fostered teamwork, resilience, personal responsibility, and effective communication, while strengthening bonds across the college's leadership body.
