Light, Shadow, and Form: Annual Photography Competition 2026:
On 10th September, the Art and Design Department, Prep School, organised the Annual Photography Competition 2026: Light, Shadow & Form, at the Football Grounds.
The competition was designed around a simple idea: to look is not always to observe. Students were encouraged to slow down and notice how light transforms familiar surroundings, revealing shapes, shadows, textures, patterns, and forms that might otherwise go unnoticed.
By exploring different viewpoints and making their own compositional choices, students experienced photography as more than capturing an image; it became a process of observation, experimentation, and visual thinking. The activity encouraged them to discover the extraordinary within the ordinary and to see their everyday environment with greater curiosity and awareness.
