Remembering H. H. Mir George Ali Murad Khan Talpur

It is with profound grief and sorrow that Aitchison College announces the passing of His Highness Mir George Ali Murad Khan Talpur, the last ruling Mir of Khairpur State and one of our senior-most alumni. He passed away on 5 October 2026 at the age of 93.
His Highness was born in Brighton, England, on 29 June 1933. In 1942, he joined Aitchison College following in the footsteps of his grandfather, H.H. Mir Ali Nawaz Khan. He remained a student of the College until 1949.
Ascending the throne as a minor in July 1947, Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpur governed during a transformative era for Khairpur. He oversaw the state's accession to Pakistan later that year before its complete integration in 1955. Under his reign, Khairpur experienced significant progress, particularly in health and education.
His highness is survived by his two sons, Sahibzada Mir Abbas Raza Khan Talpur, and Sahibzada Mir Mehdi Raza Khan Talpur. The Aitchison College community extends its heartfelt condolences to the royal family during this time of mourning. May he rest in peace. Ameen.
