Senior School Houses Take Flight: Aeronautical Engineering and Gear Up, 2026

The Aitchison College Science Society successfully hosted the Inter-House Aeronautical Engineering and Gear Up Competitions on 30th September 2026, bringing together participants from all seventeen Houses in a practical demonstration of engineering, innovation, and problem-solving.

Throughout the competitions, students designed and constructed functional paper airplane launchers and drawbridges, applying their understanding of aerodynamics, mechanics, structural design, and engineering principles. Representing their Houses with distinction, participants demonstrated creativity, precision, teamwork, and technical skill, while translating theoretical concepts into practical solutions.

The competitions provided a fitting platform for students to explore engineering through hands-on challenges while developing the technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities central to scientific inquiry and innovation.

The competitions reflected the Aitchison College Science Society's commitment to fostering scientific curiosity, encouraging practical experimentation, and providing students with opportunities to apply engineering principles beyond the classroom.
