Aitchison College vs Women Cricket Team

The College cricket side recently played a 20 over practice match against a team made up of 7 national ODI women players and 4 of our boys.

Winning the toss the Pakistan Ladies chose to bat on what was a good looking track. Sidra Amin, the Ladies captain, played a well crafted innings of 41 (off 45 balls) that contained deft sweeps and sumptuous drives. Wickets fell at regular intervals however and a low score was saved by a powerful knock from Muneeb Wasif (39 off 17).

Zain Sukhera took 2 wickets and after 20 overs Pakistan Ladies finished on a modest 111-6.

In reply Aitchison seemed to be cruising to a comfortable win when a 15 minute period of very loose play - and a Hat trick from medium pacer Diana Baig- saw the score slide from 74-4 to 99-8. Requiring 10 from the final 3 balls of the match the task was too great and the Pakistan side ran out winners by 6 runs.

In cricketing terms it will not go down as a 'Classic' but Aitchison College was very happy  to host the Pakistan side and we wish them well in their upcoming series against Bangladesh in Lahore.
