AITCHISON OPENS THE LANGLANDS' ROOM AND TEACHERS' GALLERY

The Principal welcomed guests to the Mandir courtyard and an attentive crowd listened to guest speakers including old boys Mueen Afzal, Ali Sibtain Fazli and Medhi Mohsin who spoke of special memories. Haroun Rashid gave a recitation of Major Langlands' favourite Robert Frost poem. High profile artist and performer Ali Zafar presented the school with a bust of 'The Major' to add to the Langlands' Room. The Principal spoke of how he hoped the Langlands' example would encourage old boys to donate funds for the tuition fees of remote boarders, a worthy cause close to the Major's heart.

The Principal also addressed the importance of recognising the contribution of teaching staff since 1886 who had served 15 years and more. The beautiful gallery contains photographs of all relevant staff and honour boards for 20 and 30 years plus service.
