Tour to China 2017-2018


A group of Chinese language students from Aitchison College Preparatory School visited China for a recreational and educational tour from 24th December, 2017 to 6th January 2018. The tour was arranged by Head of Department of Chinese language, Ms. Sarah Liu, to acquaint the boys with Chinese culture, history, language and tradition. The trip provided an excellent opportunity for the boys to interact with native Chinese speakers.

The boys first arrived in Beijing where they visited a number of tourist attractions such as the Great Wall of China, Olympic Park, Tiananmen Square, Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven.

From Beijing they went on to Xi’an and visited many intriguing sites including Mount Li or the Black Steed Mountain, Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum and the Xi’an Museum where they learnt the traditional art of paper cutting. In addition to visiting various magnificent sites of historical significance, the boys also enjoyed a cable car ride and watched a 3D movie.

Their next destination was Shanghai where the group visited Nanjing Road to have a view of China’s first business street. After some shopping, they went on to see the Shanghai Financial Center and experienced the city view from its 94th floor. They then travelled to a Water-Village before visiting Jiaxing City and Tongxiang City – Wuzhen which is also known as the land of plenty of silk.

They later drove towards eastern Leisure City Hangzhou where they visited West Lake and the Silk Museum. Their also visited the Nanxun Ancient Town, a famous tourist destination. Their next stops were the Oriental Venice Suzhou (lion Grove) and the Suzhou East Chang VIP hotel also known as Hee John holiday Inn. From there they went on to their final destination in China – Wuxi,  an old city in southern Jiangsu province known for being one of the birthplaces of China's modern industry and commerce.

The boys returned to Lahore on Saturday 6th January, 2018 after a delightful trip of 12 days.
