Alumni Endowment Letter

 

Dear Friends,

It is truly inspiring to witness the generosity and dedication of our alumni community in supporting the Aitchison College Endowment Fund. Your commitment to a national outreach scholarship program is commendable, and together, we are taking meaningful steps toward providing deserving students with the transformative Aitchison experience.

Here is a recap of the initial push leading up to Founders Day:

• Commitments from more than 500 donors spread over 30 Batches, from 1976 to 2010
• Rs 215M+ committed
• Rs 125M+ collected
• 10 batches crossed their target threshold of 10M in commitments
• Average commitments per old boy at around Rs. 400,000

We feel that with the funds currently raised, we are in a good position to admit at least 5 to 7 students in the coming school year. These funds shall be ring-fenced and will only be used for scholarship purposes for deserving students. We will seek out these students through outreach efforts across all provinces and conduct entrance exams to ensure that we admit deserving students on merit at Aitchison.

We are also making progress towards establishing the Endowment Fund. It is envisioned to be set up as an independent legal entity, structured as a Trust, ensuring transparency, sustainability, and long-term impact. The Fund will be managed by an independent external board with its own governance model. This structure will enable us to effectively manage and grow the fund, allowing future generations of talented students from across Pakistan to benefit from a world-class education at Aitchison College.

On the fundraising front, while we have made significant progress, there is still much more to be done. We invite those who have not yet contributed to join us in this noble endeavor. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal of raising sufficient funds to support meritorious students through full or partial scholarships. By participating, you can help change the trajectory of a child's life and, in turn, uplift their family and community.

Our current target is to raise PKR 300 million by the end of March 2025. We encourage you to rally your batchmates and spread the word so that we can reach and surpass our goal.

Aitchison College is an approved NPO under Pakistani tax laws entitling donors to the benefits available in respect of donations made to such organizations under the Pakistani laws.
