K1 to K5 Return to School, September 30

Dear Parents,

The return to school of our youngest boys has been successful. Boarders came back lively and happy and their parents were relaxed. All house staff have been very well prepared for this important task. Day boy drop-offs were also successful, although I do request that parents and drivers while assisting children, please be prompt as staff are there to assist. We need to maintain traffic flow, avoid unnecessary contact, and concentrate on each boy. There is a new ‘zebra crossing’ to indicate slow driving and children crossing from Saigol House. I also remind parents that unauthorized filming inside Aitchison is strictly prohibited.

A spot inspection this morning by Dr Murad Raas was welcomed as we toured classes together. Aitchison's standards were very well received.  Indeed, teachers are doing an extraordinary job. Boys will be allowed ‘stretch breaks’ during the day, most of which will be aimed at walking the beautiful surrounds in fresh air, in orderly and safely spaced groups.

Precautionary medical advice is unaltered. If your son is unwell, keep him home and have him tested. Test his temperature each morning before school. We will test temperatures at school, but your support helps greatly.

New parents should regularly check the junior portal.
