The Aitchison College Law Society, the Speaker Session
The Aitchison College Law Society held a guest speaker session with Barrister Muhammad Ahmed Pansota, in the Syed Babar Ali Library Media Hall on September 20th, 2024. The session was attended by fifty boys: boarders and day-boys. Barrister Pansota nostalgically recalled his school days at Aitchison, and how he transitioned from Aitchison into the legal world. He provided the boys with invaluable advice regarding their future in the world of law, and what he believed was the best way to operate in the field as a student and a practitioner. Mr Pansota provided the boys with references to his past cases while explaining different issues afflicting the Legal System of Pakistan. The enlightening session was followed by an assortment of questions from the boys. Mr. Pansota responded with the most logical answers. This session was a testament to the interest of the student body in the field of law, as well as a testament to the capabilities of the Aitchison College Law Society in terms of hosting such useful activities.
Tour to the National Museum of Science and Technology
Only curious minds can make innovative finds. On 13th September 2024, the Prep School, Mathematics Department organised an educational study tour to the National Museum of Science and Technology, Lahore (UET). Students who distinguished themselves in the Math Olympiad and Exhibition were taken along. This visit deepened the students' understanding of mathematical concepts and their real-world applications through engaging models. The visit also highlighted the practical relevance of mathematics across various fields of science and technology. It was, indeed a learning experience for our students.
Booklore - A Session at Syed Babar Ali Library
On Saturday, 14th September, Syed Babar Ali Library hosted an engaging Book Club Session. Faculty and boys shared their ideas on various books like Tuesdays with Morrie, The Forty Rules of Love, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The session was moderated by HMSS along with teachers from the Prep and the Senior Schools. The students delved into the profound themes of philosophy, Sufism, and personal development explored in the texts. They discussed Morrie’s Reflections on Life, the mystical love in Elif Shafak’s work, and Covey’s Principles of Effectiveness. The lively conversations reflected a deep passion for literature and thoughtful exploration of life’s most important lessons.
Klub der Deutsch-Wunderschüler
Aitchison College German Society held its Annual Open-House German Spelling Bee Competition in September. It was a great success, as many students from the junior and the senior categories participated enthusiastically. In the junior category, there was a tiebreaker between three students who demonstrated their skills in the German language. On the whole, it was a good show of proficiency in the German language.
