National STEM School 2019


The National STEM School is a 10-day residential programme by the Pakistan Innovation Foundation focused on advanced scientific teaching through hands-on engineering or theoretical learning. This July, the National STEM School Maker’s Camp 2019 was held at the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CEME) National University of Science and Technology (NUST) from 22nd July, 2019 to 31st July, 2019. 4 of our students were selected for this programme amongst 40 students from across Pakistan after a highly rigorous testing procedure which included online testing and interviews. The programme offered 4 themes to the participants as a topic for their final projects near the end of the 10 days:

  1. Aeronautics
  2. Mechanical Design and Automotive
  3. IoT and Electronics
  4. Robotics

All 4 of our following students successfully graduated as STEM Alumni:

  1. Mohammad Jaffer Iqbal
  2. Muhammad Wasif Farrukh
  3. Arsum Nadeem
  4. Muhammad Huzaifa Ali

Moreover, Jaffer and Wasif won the 1st prize in the ‘IoT and Electronics’ theme with their Bluetooth-controlled electronic wheelchair model while Huzaifa won the 1st prize in the ‘Aeronautics’ theme with his Remote-controlled Aeroplane.

Apart from this, another student Muhammad Abdullah Khurram presided over the programme as one of the most hardworking Teacher’s Assistants (TA) receiving a standing ovation at the graduation ceremony for his outstanding performance.
