Ceramics Making for Financial Growth
On Friday, April 25th, 2025, Campus Boys and Girls students visited the Government College of Technology for Ceramics and Glass Making. During the visit, they participated in a hands-on ceramics workshop and learnt professional techniques and practices. The initiative exposed them to the art and craft of ceramics and glassmaking. It was a real-world experience that inspired them to recognise how creative skills can be harnessed for entrepreneurial opportunities and income generation.
Amir Mazari Battles Through the Tennis Tournament to Claim Silver
One of our ace tennis stars, Amir Mazari, participated in the Asian Tennis Rankings under-16 Championships in Kazakhstan, Shymkent. The best players from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Russia, Pakistan, and India participated. After a long and gruelling competition, Mazari emerged as a finalist in the Doubles Category along with his partner from Kyrgyzstan, Roman Kim. He earned a silver medal for the country and Aitchison.
Turning Over a New Leaf: Transition Session for Pre-C1 Boarders
On Sunday, 4th May 2025, Senior School organised a meaningful and interactive session titled “Transition from Prep to Senior School” for its Pre-C1 boarders. It aimed at equipping students with the emotional and practical readiness needed for the next phase of their academic journey. The session was led by Mr. Khalid Saifullah, Housemaster of Kelly House. During the session, he shared valuable insights on the stages of transition and their psychological impact on young learners. He underscored the importance of communication, resilience, adaptability, and maintaining a positive mindset, offering practical strategies to help students navigate the shift with confidence. Adding a student-led dimension to the discussion, School Prefect Syed Muneer Ahmed (Kelly House) spoke about the significance of mutual respect, valuing teachers, healthy sports competition, and fostering brotherhood within the school community. The session concluded with an open forum where boarders expressed their thoughts, concerns, and aspirations, creating a space for honest reflection and peer connection. The event acted as an important milestone in helping students step into Senior School life with clarity and confidence.
Screen Printing Workshop
On Saturday, April 26th, the Aitchison College Preparatory School Art Department organized a valuable workshop. Students from the Campus School, both boys and girls, eagerly participated. The main topic of the workshop was Screen Printing. It aimed to teach our students how to use this technique to generate a viable income. Students practically assisted the teachers in conducting the workshop. This initiative represented a significant step toward fostering entrepreneurial skills among the students.
Workshop on Generative AI for Educators
On Friday, April 24th, 2025, Aitchison College Prep School organised a future-focused professional development workshop titled "Generative AI for Educators". The workshop provided our faculty members with a chance to learn about the increasing use of AI tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Annual Dinner of Saigol and Monnoo Houses
The Annual Dinner of Saigol House and Monnoo House was held on Friday, 18th April 2025. It was a time of celebration and enjoyment as the boys received recognition for their hard work in academics and sports. They were also praised and awarded for their discipline throughout the year. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the Housemasters' speeches and the distribution of the prizes. Dr S. M. Turab Hussain, the principal, also gave a nostalgic speech, sharing his unforgettable memories associated with Saigol House when he, in his school days, resided there as a boarder. After a scrumptious dinner, the boys from both Houses entertained the audience with their performances in plays, music, singing, a news bulletin, and other skills. It was an enjoyable and memorable evening.
Educational Trip to Nandipur
On 26th April 2025, the Prep School's Mathematics Department organised an educational tour to the Irrigation Research Institute and the Hydel and Thermal Power Stations in Nandipur. At the Research Institute, the students explored the hydraulic models of various water resource projects and witnessed the operation of some of them. These models illustrated how things are scaled down and proportioned to manageable limits, enabling a convenient study of the actual projects, which are twenty to eighty times the models' size. The visit offered a practical demonstration of mathematical concepts, particularly geometry and scale modeling, as students noted the diverse geometric shapes incorporated into the designs.
Later, at the Hydel and Thermal Power Stations, the students experienced firsthand real-world infrastructure projects' vast scale and complexity. They gained insights into the operation of large-scale power generation facilities, how critical systems are monitored and controlled, and the challenges engineers face in maintaining and optimizing such installations. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, enhancing their understanding of both mathematics and engineering practices.
Aitchison Pre-1970 Leavers Lunch: A Heartwarming Reunion
Aitchison College proudly hosted the Pre-1970 Leavers Lunch on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The event brought together a distinguished group of alumni, their families, and the respected spouses of late Aitchisonians. It was a heartfelt reunion brimming with nostalgia as old friends reconnected and shared treasured memories from their college years. Notable guests, including Lt. Gen. (R) Ali Kuli Khan Khattak, a retired three-star general and former commander of X Corps, Syed Fakhar Imam, a former Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, and Dr. S.M. Turab Hussain, the Principal, addressed the attendees. Their speeches reflected on fond recollections, highlighted exciting upcoming projects, and underscored the crucial role of the Endowment Fund in supporting deserving students. The gathering celebrated lifelong friendships, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to give back to the College, which has given them so much.
Homecoming: Alumni Annual College Tour, Classes 2011-2024
On April 15, 2025, Aitchison College warmly welcomed alumni from the Classes of 2011 to 2024 for the Annual College Tour. Old Boys returned to their alma mater, revisiting cherished landmarks and reconnecting with friends. The day was filled with nostalgia, pride, and a renewed bond with the College that continues to shape their lives.
Among the Germanophiles
The Klub der Deutsch-Wunderschüler held its annual Pre-C1 Introduction Camp after school on Thursday, April 24th, 2025 led by dedicated C1 and C2 members. This welcoming initiative aimed to support incoming C1 students through an introduction to a mix of academic preparation, cultural activities, and team-building games that the society offers. Participants gained valuable tips on navigating C1 coursework and enhancing their German skills while bonding over a shared love for the language and culture. The camp fostered a strong sense of community and enthusiasm, helping students feel more confident and connected.
15th ACMUN Conference Concluded on a High Note
The Aitchison College Model United Nations Society is among the oldest and most prestigious societies. The 15th ACMUN Conference marked one of its most successful editions, hosting over eight hundred delegates across ten committees, making it one of Pakistan’s largest and most successful conferences. ACMUN XV welcomed delegates from every province and twelve outstation cities, ranging from Pakpattan to Hyderabad. It was recognised as the most well-structured conference in the nation, with judging based on the ACMUN Protocol—a unique and stringent framework outlining the goals and standards for diplomatic delegates. For the first time in Pakistan, innovative crisis committees such as a USA Crisis were introduced. Additionally, the event featured premium stalls and restaurants for delegates, including Bamboo Union and Smash. One of the many successes of the event was the introduction of full-sized committee flags. The Apollo XV, ACMUN’s Best Delegate Crisis Cell, was also held, marking the most competitive edition in the Society’s history, with all major schools competing with their best.
Opening of Umar M. Sheikh Riding Pavilion
On Tuesday, 15th April 2025, the opening ceremony of a new riding pavilion was held. This beautiful riding pavilion is generously donated by Mr. Umar M. Sheikh, an alumnus of 91, and it is rightly named after him. The elegant edifice is yet another testament to the enduring bond between our alumni and their alma mater. His Excellency Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor of the Punjab and President of the Board of Governors, Aitchison College, was the Chief Guest. He unveiled the commemorative plaque in the presence of the donor and the other dignitaries.
The event featured an impressive exhibition of Tent Pegging. Old boys, staff, and students attended the function.
