The Senior School Boarders attend Dr. Tarunjit Singh Butalia's Lecture

On Friday, 8th November 2024, eleven boarders from LJ, Godley, and Kelly Houses visited the Punjab Public Library to attend a lecture, titled:  “Revisiting Map of Lahore Fort”.  The lecture was delivered by Dr. Tarunjit Singh Butalia, PhD, a renowned historian and an Associate Professor at Ohio State University, USA. It was an enriching experience for our students, offering them fresh perspectives on the Lahore Fort through digital maps. The event, organised by the Walled City of Lahore Authority, provided them with a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of history and modern technology.

Our former Principal, Fakir Syed Aijazuddin Sahib, was also in attendance and graciously shared some of his cherished memories with the boys. He expressed his delight in meeting with our students and warmly encouraged their participation in such intellectually stimulating events.

Dr. Tarunjit also spoke about his deep familial roots in Lahore and his long-standing connections with Aitchison College. He proudly noted that his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all Aitchisonians before Partition.

Our students undertook the event under the able superintendance of Mr. Iqbal Haider the Head of co-curriculars and Mr. Muhammad Tariq, English Department.
