Principal's Letter February 2

Dear Parents,

Some schools have returned to a normal 5 day weekly class arrangement, upon which I pass no judgement. However, Aitchison will remain on the Cycle A and B until the course of the pandemic is clearer. We are also a day and boarding school that requires a more cautious approach. As soon as we feel confident in returning to a normal 5 day system, we will do so. Thus far, Aitchison has successfully managed academics for boys and offered sensible sporting options. This will be a gradual process of returning to normal.

I am also aware of the anxiety among some parents over the 'alleged' impact of a Single National Curriculum (SNC). My strong advice is to allow this process to work itself through at government level as it deals with some obvious issues before jumping to conclusions. Aitchison has made its opinion clear and will continue to do so through appropriate channels. We enthusiastically support the role that education has to play in improving every child's life and prospects at a national level.
