Seeking Donors for Scholarship Fund
Dear Friends,
We all have had the privilege to study in one of the more remarkable schools in Pakistan. Aitchison College gave us the educational foundation and social network upon which most of us built successful lives and careers. I invite you to join me in extending this opportunity to those who may be less fortunate but are endowed with the potential and talent deserving of the finest education. The Aitchison experience would be truly transformational for such students, changing not only their lives but also of their families and communities.
In the last couple of months, we have been working to create an endowment fund for Aitchison College which will provide a sustainable pool of financial resources to support meritorious and deserving students from across Pakistan.
One of the key areas this Fund will focus on will be to set up a program aimed at attracting deserving children and offering them a full or partial scholarship to attend Aitchison - thereby giving them a unique opportunity to shape their future. The program is designed to be similar to the LUMS National Outreach Program (NOP), which I have had the privilege to observe very closely during my tenure at LUMS. We aim to enroll these scholarship students in E2 (grade 7) through a transparent, competitive, merit-driven process.
We are currently organizing an informal challenge amongst batches to raise initial funds to kickstart this initiative. Each batch is requested to take up the challenge to raise PKR 10 million, which will sustainably fund one child’s full scholarship at Aitchison, or more than one if used for partial scholarships. We hope to complete this fundraising effort by February 21st, 2025, so that we can announce the scholarships at the upcoming Aitchison Founders Day. We believe that announcing this initiative at the Founders Day will help garner additional support from Old Boys and inspire further contributions to this cause.
